One of the worst things you can do when you have a long sales cycle is to hire a top producer, targeting those top 5 game changing accounts. 

I understand... this is the traditional process and this is what we’ve been taught. You go all in on those 1-2 top tier AE because you think they will take your business to the next level. But how many times have you gotten no burned?


If your ramp up times 3 months and average sales cycles are 6-9 months, what do you do if after 6 months and 300k in base salaries they haven’t even gotten your product in front of 1 if them? Do you cut your losses and start the process all over with another expensive AE, or do you keep paying them to not produce?
